Additionally, Hollywood is well-known for the being the home of the Walk of Fame, where various celebrities have impressed their handprints next to a star in the concrete commemorating the celebrity.   • Griffith Park - This beautiful park covers 4,210 acres of land. It is the second largest park in California and one of the largest urban parks in all of North America. Griffith Park hosts the Greek theatre, the Griffith Observatory and Planetarium, the Los Angeles Zoo, the Museum of the American West, and the famous Hollywood sign. Additionally, within the park there are two 18-hole golf courses, a 9-hole golf course, a baseball field and other athletic fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, lush greenery, a swimming pool, equestrian trials, and much more. The park has so much to offer, you could spend a whole weekend exploring the numerous Griffith Park attractions and activities.
  • Autry National Center of the American West - The Autry National Center is dedicated to the exploration of the experiences, cultures, and perceptions of the people of the American West. It is home to three institutions, including the Museum of the American West, the Southwest Museum of the American Indian, and the Institute for the Study of the American West. Each institution offers a unique and educational experience through the use of exhibits, artifacts, stories, and programs. The Center is named for its founder, Gene Autry, whose career spanned about 60 years in the entertainment industry. During Autry’s distinguished career, he dabbled in all aspects of the entertainment industry, including radio, recordings, motion pictures, television, rodeo, broadcasting, and live performances.

Burbank Nightlife

Burbank is home to some of the best gourmet restaurants, trendy clubs, lounges, and a variety of bars. Because many of the entertainment companies are headquartered in Burbank, celebrities often frequent the shops, restaurants, and bars in and around Burbank. After touring the various entertainment studios, such as NBC and Warner, relax at on of the many popular restaurants or bars. Burbank Weather

Tourist Attractions in Houston

It is located within minutes of downtown Houston and offers a unique opportunity to experience history.
  • Memorial Park - Memorial Park is one of the nation’s largest urban parks covering approximately 1,466 acres. The park has many attractions and outdoor recreational activities, including an 18-hole Memorial Park Golf Course, facilities for tennis, softball, swimming, track, croquet, volleyball, skating, cycling, and running, the Seymour Lieberman Exercise Trail, various hiking, jogging, and walking trails, and picnic areas. Exploring the park is a wonderful way to spend a day in Houston.
  • Houston Arboretum and Nature Center - The Arboretum sits on 155 acres within Memorial Park. At the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center (HANC), there are various events and daily activities. Some of the event and activities include Arbor Day, Breakfast with the Birds, Tai Chi, woodcarving, tree sales, and much, much more. The Center also offers educational opportunities where children and adults can learn from experienced naturalists and trained volunteers.
  • Port of Houston - The port offers a free 90-minute boat tour around the port and ship channel. The tour embarks from the Sam Houston Pavilion. While on the tour, you can enjoy views of international cargo vessels since it is in close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico and operations at the Turning Basin Terminal.
  • Houston Zoo - The Houston Zoo is amazing. It spans 55 acres and is home to thousands of animals representing more than 500 species. Visiting the zoo is a unique, fun, exiting, and educational experience for all. Throughout the year, the zoo offers special private and public events and entertainment and daily educational opportunities.

Houston Nightlife

Houston is home to some of the best local bars and pubs around. Along with the local bars and pubs, Houston offers gourmet restaurants, including famous BBQ joints, trendy clubs and lounges, and a variety of other places offering a fun night out on the town.

Houston Sports

  • The Houston Astros - The Houston Astros play Major League Baseball and are currently housed at the Minute Maid Park. In their decades of existence, the Astros have made several playoff appearances but only one World Series appearance, in which they lost to the Chicago White Sox.
  • The Houston Texans - The Texans are Houston’s NFL team, joining the NFL as an expansion team in 2002. They play at the Reliant Stadium. Reliant Stadium is actually part of a collection of fantastic venues, which are collectively called Reliant Park. Reliant Stadium was the first facility in the NFL to have a retractable roof. While the Houston Texans have had many triumphant victories, they have yet to win a championship.
  • The Houston Rockets - The Rockets are Houston’s NBA team. They have been a very successful franchise, winning a couple championships, several conference titles, and several division titles. They had a 22-game winning streak in 2008, which is currently the second-longest winning streak in NBA history behind the Los Angeles Lakers. The Rockets are housed at the Toyota Center.

Houston Weather

Houston enjoys hot summers and temperate winters. Additionally, it can get windy in the winter and, in the summer months, it can get humid. July tends to be the hottest month and June tends to be the wettest. During the summer months, there are usually frequent thunderstorms.
