Parking for Frequent Airport Visits

Wednesday, 21 September 2011 07:03 by Mandy
Anyone who travels a great deal can tell you immediately that one of the most frustrating things about traveling by airplane is actually getting to and from the airport. If you are a frequent flyer, chances are you are nodding your head right now. You know that frustration. Parking can be a hassle that could make you late for your flight of you are pressed for time. Parking can also be quite pricey at many airports. The good news is that there are ways that you can save time and even money when you need transportation to the airport. Consider the following and then you are sure to develop a strategy next time you need to travel.
Taxi/Car Service
Of course, one method of transportation is to hire a car service or call a cab. These methods may seem more convenient than driving your own vehicle, but there are a few things that you will need to consider. If you choose one of these services, you will have to wait. If you are pressed for time, such a service may not be the right option because you simply may not have the time to wait on the car. However, if time is not an issue and you just do not want to have to drive, then this type of car service could be right for you.
Off-Site Parking
If you do wish to drive your own vehicle, and price is important, then you will want to consider off-site parking. This method can be quite low in price since you will be parking on a third party lot further from the airport. Off-site parking is also convenient in that you will have access to a shuttle service to transport you from the lot to the airport and vice versa. This can save you both time and money since these lots often have more available spaces than the actual airport parking
Valet Parking
If time is the most important thing, then valet parking should definitely be something to consider. Many people live under the misconception that valet parking is pricey, but generally it is not much more than standard airport parking. When you choose valet parking, you will have the added convenience of being able to park right outside the terminal. You will not have to drive around looking for a parking space and you will not have to walk any sort of distance.
Pre-Pay and Reserve Parking
Many people do not realize this, but there are ways you can plan your parking in advance. You can choose to reserve a parking space at your airport. This will save you a great deal of time since you will have that space waiting for you when you arrive. Pre-pay airport parking can save you money since you may have access to discounts if you go ahead and pay in full for your parking in advance.
For the frequent traveler who knows the hassle of transport to and from the airport, remember that there are options that can save you time and can save you a headache or two.

When is the Best Time to Travel?

Friday, 9 September 2011 06:16 by Mandy
When it comes to traveling, there is one question that may matter more than you realize. That question is simply, when is the best time to travel. Of course, if you are going on family vacation, your first instinct will be that you want to travel during the summer. The kid’s will be on summer break and there are many travel destinations that are focused on this season. However, the biggest problem with this is that everyone else will have the same idea as you. Many, many people travel during the summer. Because of this, it is not the best time to travel. Here are some things you will want to think about.
If you travel when everyone else does, this means that demand for those airline tickets and hotel rooms is all the higher. When demand goes up, so does price. During the peak months of the summer, airline tickets can cost up to double what they would at other times. This is also true of hotel rooms. If you travel during this season, you could end up paying hundreds more dollars than you have to. Of course, if you do not travel during the summer, when is the best time to travel?
Another time that can be quite busy and quite expensive will be around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. This is also because many, many people will be traveling home to see family. Unless you must, this would be another time to avoid traveling unless you will want to pay very high airline fares and expensive hotel rooms.
Again, you must be wondering just when is the best time to travel? If you are trying to save money on your plans, then you will definitely want to avoid these two peak seasons. Instead, you will want to travel during the times referred to as the off-season. This would include late winter, early spring and then in the fall. If you travel during these times, you will find that almost everything costs less. This includes flight costs, hotel rooms, car rentals, airport parking, and even restaurants and some amusement and theme parks. In addition, when you travel during the off-seasons, the places you may visit will be much less crowded, which is just an added bonus.
What if you have no choice but to travel during the busiest seasons? You can still make choices that will save you time and money. Flights are a great deal cheaper during the week, especially midweek like Wednesday and Thursday. Additionally, hotel rooms can be up to half the price for weeknights. If you must travel during the most expensive season, make the decision to travel during the week and you can still save hundreds of dollars.
When is the best time to travel? This is a question that many people have asked. If you can travel when other people are not, you can save a great deal of money. By doing this, you can take advantages of smaller lines and less crowds at your destination as well.
