The 2010 NBA All-Star game or as most fans would like to refer to it as “The Lebron James Show”, is hosted in the home of the Dallas Mavericks for the second time in history. This year it will take place on Valentines Day at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Every year fans dictate the All-Star starting line-ups by voting for their favorite NBA players. Do the most popular players or most skilled players get to play? This is the question many critics disagree on. I can answer this with a simple question, who cares? The All-Star game is for the fans and it’s ultimately their decision. This is not the Olympics, it’s just a fun weekend for NBA Players and fans alike.
I can tell you one player from Cleveland that needs no introduction or votes is attending. However, Lebron James claimed last year he would compete in the slam dunk competition and has changed his mind. This is probably for the better considering his heart is set on winning the championship with his fellow teammates. The King is focused on one goal and if fans want to see him in a slam dunk competition, just watch any Cleveland Cavaliers game.

Additionally, Allen Iverson who recently retired to prove a point that he should be respected in the NBA received 1,269,568 votes from his loyal fan base. This will be his 11th appearance in the All-Star game. Iverson commented in response to the “haters” that don’t believe he should attend. “The way I look at it is, what should I do? Should I worry about what those people say or concentrate on the million-plus people that voted for me? To me, it's a no-brainer. My fans want to see me play and they have the right to put in who they want to put in the game.” I can’t argue with that.
So what is the best win-win Valentines Day gift? That’s definitely a no brainer: Watch your favorite NBA stars hit the court on February 14th at 9:00pm eastern time.
